A lovely gentleman came in to the Harrogate store yesterday worried about his Rolex watch which he’s had for 10 years. It’s his pride and joy but it’s losing time. Chris Stoner asked whether the watch had ever been serviced and unfortunately it hadn’t. The gentleman wasn’t aware that Rolex watches should be serviced every 3-5 years.
He was apprehensive about servicing his watch as it had taken a couple of months in some cases for his friends to have their watches serviced at Rolex. Chris re-assured him that this wouldn’t happen with us as servicing is carried by our authenticated Rolex watchmaker within 15 working days. This, along with our current £50 off Rolex watch servicing offer simply made this gentleman’s day. We aim to please!

A War Hero, A bus Ride and a Watch Battery
Just thought you might like to hear the reason why Stoners do free watch batteries for the over 80′s….
Back in 2009, Chris Stoner served an elderly gentleman in our Shipley store who had come in to ask for a replacement watch battery. The gentleman was out of sorts and quite upset. When Chris asked if he was ok, he explained that he’d had a dreadful morning, starting with his bus journey into town.
He went on to explain that as he’d shown the bus driver his bus pass and set off to find a seat, the driver had set off without waiting for him to sit down. This caused him to fall over on the bus and hurt his wrist.
And it didn’t stop there….whilst walking through town he was then verbally abused by some youths. He was visibly upset and shaken by his morning’s experiences.
Chris was extremely moved by the gentleman’s plight and over a coffee discovered that he’d fought in the second world war and had a fabulously brave and inspirational life story to tell. Our customer left a happy man with a free watch battery fitted into his watch for him and from that day on, Stoners do free watch batteries for all people over the age of 80.
Chris decided that we should do our bit, however small, to show our respect and gratitude for the sacrifice many people of that generation made for us.

Our New Harrogate Store is Now Open!
Well, we did it! After several weeks of worry, seemingly endless problems (and treacherous arctic conditions, just to top it all off) our fabulous new Harrogate store is open!
With stunning diamond rings all created exclusively for Stoners by our own talented bunch of designers and amazing Rolex watches, the new store is truly a visual delight, with amazing jewellery and watches twinkling and glittering in their fabulously stylish and elegant surroundings.

Don’t Panic!
It’s been all over the news this morning that Saturday the 18th December is officially “Panic Saturday” this year.
“Panic Saturday” is traditionally the last Saturday before Christmas and is the day when millions of men up and down the country rush around the shops and spend enormous amounts of money on ill-thought out and gimicky presents. Indeed, Chris Evans on Radio 2′s Breakfast Show this morning talked of a man who bought umpteem pots of mustard last year for his friends and family! Read more
Rolex Price Increase
Last week, Rolex increased their prices – the only price increase so far this year, but the third price increase in the last two years. The latest increase averages at around 8% across the full range and is a sure sign that this brand is doing well.
With what seems like constant doom and gloom in the media about the state of our economy and talk of caution from most big brands, manufacturers and retailers alike, this can surely only be good news for the economy as a whole. It is however, bad news for everyone who is on the verge of purchasing a Rolex watch.
Price increases will also inevitably apply to all pre-owned Rolex too, yet buying pre-owned can be one way to make a saving, as depreciation is much slower, indeed, some models hold their value extremely well.
